Un Peu D'Histoire...

«Deux d'entre nous, Gina Marie et Akiko, nous connaissions à l'adolescence à Oakland dans la scène punk et riotgirl. Nous avons déménagé et vécu dans d'autres villes, principalement à New York City. Après 15 ans, juste après notre retour à Oakland, nous nous sommes retrouvés lors d'un concert et avons décidé de former un groupe ensemble. Avec le temps et après quelques changements de line-up, Dylan puis Winter se sont ajoutés. »

A Propos Du Nom

«Notre claviériste de l'époque avait rêvé qu'Ötzi la momie venait lui rendre visite, alors nous nous sommes nommés ainsi en l'honneur de l'expérience.»

«Nous sommes actuellement avec Artoffact Records. De plus, Akiko a sa propre maison de disque appelée Psychic Eye, et Gina Marie sa propre maison de disques et de promotion appelée Near Dark. »

Anecdotes

«De nombreux critiques nous ont appelés un groupe exclusivement féminin, mais il y a deux choses qui ne vont pas avec ceci: 

1.  C'est incorrect. Akiko n'est pas binaire et utilise les pronoms "them/they" (en anglais). Nous sommes un groupe trans-inclusif. 

2.  À moins que vous ne signaliez également des groupes entièrement masculins, veuillez limiter les descriptions à notre musique!»

Their Story

"Two of us, Gina Marie and Akiko, knew each other as teenagers in the Oakland punk and riotgirl scene. We moved and lived in other cities, mostly New York City. After 15 years, just after returning to Oakland, we met up at a concert and decided to form a band together. Over time and after a few line-up changes, Dylan and then Winter were added."

About The Name

"Our keyboardist at the time had a dream that Ötzi the Mummy was coming to visit him, so we named ourselves after the experience."

"Many critics have called us an all-female band, but there are two things wrong with this: 

 It's incorrect. Akiko is not binary and uses the pronouns "them/they". We are a trans-inclusive group. 

 Unless you also report all-male bands, please limit descriptions to our music!"
