Un Peu D'Histoire

Tout commence en 2015, après avoir vu ensemble Slash en concert à Nice, Matthias propose à Killian de monter leur propre groupe. Ils commencent alors leurs recherches de musiciens pour compléter leur line-up. C’est en 2017 que David, ami de longue date de Killian, intègre le groupe. La composition évolue au fil des mois, voyant défiler plusieurs musiciens, pour finalement voir Joan rejoindre les rangs en tant que bassiste fin 2018, qui leur présentera Roman, celui-ci devenant le batteur de GATG en 2019.

A Propos Du Nom

« Le « at the Gate » vient d’une soirée mouvementée où la police a débarqué au portail (« at the Gate » du coup) pour tapage nocturne alors que nous composions un des morceaux de notre EP. Le « Glamour » vient simplement d’un brainstorming ayant pour but de trouver un mot transparent qui rende aussi bien en anglais qu’en français. »

Influences Musicales

« Notre musique puise beaucoup son inspiration dans les grands noms des diverses décennies du rock, comme Guns N’Roses, Metallica, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, les Doors et bien d’autres. »

Anecdote(s)

« Pour ce qui est de l’histoire derrière une chanson, il y a 'Such a Slut'qui est le morceau que nous composions le soir où la police à débarquer. C’est donc un peu en parti grâce à ce morceau que nous avons trouvé notre nom. »

« Un bon souvenir de première partie est la fois où nous avions ouvert pour la dernière date de la tournée acoustique de Klone. C’était notre premier concert avec Joan, qui venait de rejoindre le groupe 2 semaines avant. Les gars de Klone étaient super cools et on a vraiment bien rigolé ce soir-là. On a même eu le droit à notre première chronique de concert, c’était très glorifiant ! »

Their Story

It all starts in 2015, after having seen Slash together in concert in Nice, Matthias proposes to Killian to start their own band. They then begin their search for musicians to complete their line-up. It's in 2017 that David, long time friend of Killian, joins the band. The composition evolves over the months, seeing several musicians come and go, to finally see Joan join the ranks as a bassist at the end of 2018, who will introduce them to Roman, this one becoming the drummer of GATG in 2019.

About The Name

"The "at the Gate" comes from an eventful night when the police showed up at the gate ("at the Gate" by the way) for nightly disturbance while we were composing one of the songs on our EP. The "Glamour" simply came from a brainstorming session to find a transparent word that could be used in both English and French."

"As far as the story behind a song, there is 'Such a Slut' which is the song we were writing the night the police showed up. So that's kind of where we got our name from."

"A good memory of opening for Klone was when we opened for them on the last date of their acoustic tour. It was our first show with Joan, who had just joined the band 2 weeks before. The Klone guys were really cool and we had a lot of fun that night. We even got our first concert review, which was very glorious!"
