Today, June 25, 2021, the band Winona Avenue releases its first self-titled album! The album itself is composed of 8 previously released singles including December Night, our favorite, and 4 new songs: Security, Alive in You, Great Escape and Only one Thing.
But first, let's go back to Winona Avenue, who are they?
Winona Avenue is a band composed of Daniel and David Deputy. Two brothers, one guitarist and singer (Daniel) and the other confirmed drummer (David) who, in 2018, decide to create Winona Avenue, after the Blank Pages project, a project that launched the career of the two brothers. The band draws its influences from 90s pop punk with Blink-182 or alternative rock with The Killers.
Let yourself be carried away by tracks as catchy as each other. The album itself revolves around different musical styles. Whether it is alternative rock, pop of the
80's pop, 2000's pop punk or 2010's pop rock. Winona Avenue brings us into a very electronic universe. Each song on the album was written and produced by the band's lead singer, Daniel Deputy.
His lyrics are always full of positivity, reflection and encouragement. Daniel Deputy himself says "I write songs that encourage my listeners" he also says "If I didn't write lyrics that could make a positive difference to the listener, I would feel like I was doing them a disservice. I believe we need to help build each other up rather than destroy each other, and music is a tool that could serve that purpose."
The making of this album was laborious. Daniel explains that he wanted each of the songs to become someone's favorite.
