A year after the release of their flagship album Fission, Dead Poet Society are re-recording their track Hurt with Mexican trio The Warning! A long-teased and eagerly-awaited featuring, which has even been given its own music video.
Similar to the original video released on July 8, 2024, it features the cinematic style of Dead Poet Society, to which The Warning has adapted without fading into the background. The shots that make up the clip's narrative have been replaced by rushes of Daniella and Paulina in a setting as sober as it is dark, echoing the original staging with Dead Poet Society. Despite these changes, all the rage and distress can be seen on a visual level, offering not a remake but a perfect alternative to the original video.
The two bands are in two different rooms and nothing was shot at the same time, yet you can feel this perfect cohesion between the two, matching voices in perfect osmosis. With The Warning, we're used to rock with almost symphonic touches, while with Dead Poet Society, we're used to hard rock tinged with progressive, and yet the combination of the two is a real success, with the female vocals helping to balance the mix of aggression and gentleness of the Californian band's tracks.
Hurt is taken from their second and most recent album, Fission, which enjoyed great success around the world, but also and especially in Europe, and let's be honest, in France, where Running In Circles was played on the radios for months, before bringing the band to an exclusive performance at Taratata!
Seen for the first time in France as support act for Badflower at Le Petit Bain in December 2022, the band went on to enjoy a successful run at a sold-out Maroquinerie last year and an appearance at Rock En Seine! It's a deserved rise, given the artistic maturity of their second album!
Joining forces with The Warning was almost logical in view of their similar rise to prominence: French radio stations, live shows... The trio are growing in strength as time goes by, and show no sign of letting up, which will take them to the Olympia on April 14, 2025!
The paths of these two bands will cross again very soon, as they will both be appearing at Hellfest 2025! Not on the same day, of course, but we'll still be hoping for a live duet on the Mainstage.
