Nine Inch Nails composes the soundtrack for TRON: Ares

The album, already available for pre-order, will be released on September 19, 2025, a few weeks before the film's theatrical release, scheduled for October 8. The first track to be unveiled is As Alive As You Need Me To Be, which is also the band's first new song in five years. The track accompanies the new trailer for the film and gives a taste of the soundscape that awaits viewers.

For TRON: Ares, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed their first soundtrack under the name Nine Inch Nails, after having collaborated on more than twenty film and television soundtracks that have won several Oscars and Golden Globes. Here, there is no symphony orchestra: the duo opts for a dense, saturated, and immersive electronic architecture, made up of pulsating synths and spectral melodies, echoing the collision between analog and digital anxiety that runs through the TRON universe. This choice breaks with their previous work and redefines the codes of science fiction soundtracks.

This announcement comes in a summer already marked by their remarkable performance at the Accor Arena on July 7, their first Paris date since 2022 as part of their world tour. With this project, Nine Inch Nails confirms its ability to surprise, whether on stage or on screen.
