After a four-year wait, Born of Osiris returns with Through Shadows, their seventh album, released on July 11. The band continues to explore progressive metalcore by playing with the contrasts between light and shadow.
The American band Born of Osiris has struck again. The iconic figures of progressive metalcore unveiled Through Shadows, the seventh album in their discography, on July 11. Fans had to be patient to discover the entire album, which was revealed bit by bit since the single Torchbearer in 2023. The band also took the opportunity to release a new official music video from the album, The War That You Are.
The follow-up to Angel or Alien (2021) explores the silent struggles and introspective storms that everyone goes through. The album title is inspired by a line from the eponymous song: “through shadow light remains.” The musicians from the suburbs of Chicago emphasize a key idea: “without shadow, light could not shine,” adding that “when all seems lost, we are left with only one choice: to accept our demise or defend our existence.” This phrase embodies the spirit of the album. The band confides: «'Through Shadows', a journey forged in the crucible of personal growth and resilience. We’ve poured our hearts into this record, drawing from the raw emotion of our soul-searching.»
A journey to be discovered as soon as possible, to immerse yourself in sincere music that reflects the challenges of life, without artifice, in a chiaroscuro that reveals all its nuances.
