Halestorm push the limits once again with 'Everest'

On August 8th, we were thrilled to discover the band’s brand new and sixth album, which brings Halestorm back to their signature style: Heavy Metal!

A complex record, both in substance and form, offering a true introspective journey to the listener.

The album opens with Darkness Always Wins, which almost feels like a return to the roots after Back From The Dead, where the band explored more distant directions. Everest strikes a balance between its predecessor and the band’s earlier work, delivering the perfect blend of musical exploration and the kind of nostalgia cherished by longtime fans.

Exploring dark themes, the album asserts a sense of melancholy and discomfort in which anyone can find themselves. Lzzy Hale describes the album as “the story of our journey as a band, a road paved with beautiful endings and new beginnings. We weave a tangled web of melancholy, frustration, anger, and the vast purgatory of love and lost love.”

Far from being their most aggressive album in terms of composition, its emotional intensity instead comes from a strong focus on sound exploration and deeply heartfelt lyrics. We’re treated to a 90s-worthy heavy sound, piano elements, transcendent guitar solos, perfectly mastered harmonies on Gather the Lambs… We oscillate between sharp riffs and tender moments, like the breaking point of an inner battle that has gone on for too long.

Beyond the pervasive melancholy, the album carries a Dark Feminine energy, embodied perfectly by the flawless vocals of a frontwoman with impeccable technique.

Each track feels like an anthem ready to be sung by crowds around the world. And if, like us, you’re eager to scream this album at the top of your lungs, meet us on November 17th at the Olympia in Paris for a concert that promises to be as epic as this latest release, where Halestorm will be joined by Bloodywood!
