‘Vindicate’: The Announcement of a New Era for Black Veil Brides ?

After releasing their first three singles, Black Veil Brides has unveiled Vindicate, the title track of their seventh and upcoming album, which was announced at the same time. With a heavier sound and a darker artistic direction, we’re already anticipating an album that showcases the band’s evolution toward a more mature and direct style.

Initially known for a more emocore style that earned them a "teenage" label, the band continues its evolution toward a more assertive, less clichéd sound, breaking out of that mold. This journey undoubtedly began with Vale (2018), which featured less black-and-white makeup and offered a broader vision of what the American band has to offer. Coinciding with Andy Biersack’s (aka Andy Black) solo career, the album featured a heavier rock style but still with very heavy riffs, showcasing another facet of the quintet and already demonstrating their desire to stand out.
The band then evolved into The Phantom Tomorrow (2021), which remains firmly rooted in rock, blending their signature distorted guitar solos with catchy choruses, ready for a live performance that will have the crowds screaming. And that’s not to mention the evolution of Black Veil Brides’ charismatic lead singer himself. You only need to compare their two performances at the Vans Warped Tour (2015 & 2025) to see it ; while a decade ago Andy Biersack lacked stamina, that’s no longer the case today. This work on himself allows our ears to fully enjoy his flawless techniques, which make his voice the band’s signature sound.
Another change worth noting: the bassist. While we were already familiar with Christian Coma “CC” (drummer), Jake Pitts (guitarist), and Jinxx (guitarist and violinist), it was only after much drama that Ashley Purdy moved on, making way for Lony Eaggleton, a young fan who found his way into the band a few years ago. And the backing vocals have never sounded better!
And following Bleeders, Hallelujah, and Certainty, which already guided us toward a darker, more refined side of the Black Veil Brides universe, we can now discover Vindicate, the title track of their seventh and upcoming album, set for release on May 8, 2026. These four tracks offer a glimpse into the band’s new artistic direction, which plays with an almost Death Metal aesthetic for a sound that oscillates between catchy rock and transcendent screams. They no longer present themselves as a band drowning under the labels imposed on them, but as a group that has found its identity and intends to assert it for all to see.
While Vale and The Phantom Tomorrow signaled a transition, it seems that Vindicate marks the decisive turning point. There are still 10 tracks left to discover, but we can already sense the striking evolution of a band that is eager to make its mark on the Death Rock scene. With a previous album that topped Billboard’s “Hard Rock” charts, one can only wonder how far this upcoming release, which already looks so promising, will go.

In fact, Black Veil Brides will be taking their new album on tour across France twice in June: on June 21 at Hellfest and on June 24 at the Bataclan!
And while you wait for those dates, you can pre-save and/or pre-order the album, which will be released on their new label, Spinefarm !
